almost 4 months later, he picked his keyboard and wrote something.
life is going good.
he moved to the beautiful Coruña with his girlfriend and bought a mac. his friends offered him a bass guitar and he bought new strings for all his instruments. he did more photographs but still hasn’t organized them. then his girlfriend bought a mac. they played Civilization 4 against each other until 4 in the morning and woke up the next day at 14h.
life is generally quite good.
he eats well, drinks gin tonics every once in a while, and eventually stopped smoking. also started running, to try to kill the slowly growing belly he now packs. there’s beach 5 minutes walking from home, trips to Amsterdam every 2 or 3 weeks, trips to Portugal every 2 or 3 months.
life is flowing, going, happening, waking up with sun light on his face and going to bed with the moon as a company. there’s music, plans, lots and lots of books, singing, playing, laughing. there’s all the small things that tick you.
life seems, in general, to have restarted, or better yet, to have switched sides, like the b-side of an old cassete.

…at apple!!!
I’ll probably be getting the 15-inch version, Core i7 but I’ll wait a couple of weeks to gather more €€€ and actually hear from the early buyers who’ll probably unveil some wicked performance issue or screen issue.
Apple, I like your products but you and I know that that always happens.
But I still like your products.

less than 2 weeks — that’s the amount of time I still have here in amsterdam, as part of the big adventure I started almost three years ago.
things have changed so much, overwhelmingly, to a point where I don’t even know the person who arrived here three years ago.
I guess the path I walked is what really made these words I’m writing today, along with the people I met and all the crazy things I’ve done; so tonight I’ll be starting a series of articles where I’ll be depicting this adventure.
and in the meantime, I’m already dreaming of where this new path will lead me.

I have the feeling that all the words coming from people leaving Sun Oracle are filled with sorrow…
As to why I left, it’s difficult to answer: just about anything I could say that would be accurate and honest would do more harm than good. The hardest part is no longer being with all the great people I’ve had the privilege to work with over the years.
His new blog lives on nighthacks.com.

looking back on punk, its lasting testimony, its manifesto if you like, is that it allowed one to be a flamboyant failure rather than a benign sucess. It made failure a noble persuit.
Malcolm McLaren, in “Punk, the whole story”

while others were looking for beauty, Malcolm was looking for ugliness; there was nothing like what came out of his need for a new definition of beautiful –what looks ugly and what sounds ugly, what’s deconstructed, what’s undesigned, what’s not what you want to see.
maybe now you’re in a place like that.

Alex Poray, talking about his last comic book on the lives of Sid and Nancy:
I got into the Pistols when one of my brothers bought the Pistols “God Save The Queen” single and it blew me away. The Pistols inspired me to pick up an instrument and join a band.
His myspace page is chaotic; then again, it’s a myspace page…

Frank Rich, in the New York Times, explaining why American Republicans are fighting so hard histerically against their health care reform:
The conjunction of a black president and a female speaker of the House — topped off by a wise Latina on the Supreme Court and a powerful gay Congressional committee chairman — would sow fears of disenfranchisement among a dwindling and threatened minority in the country no matter what policies were in play.
yeah.
one would almost say that America is changing, much to the dismay of some people…

…in most cases
We have gone to great lengths to ensure backward compatibility while reimplementing a good portion of Maven’s internals. From the command-line perspective, we are trying to be fully compatible.
looking forward for that.
